A Mother's Day Reflection

Mother's Day has a way of slowing us down. Even in a world that moves fast — school schedules, work demands, church commitments, the constant hum of family life — this day invites us to pause and honor the women whose love quietly holds so much together.

Some mothers are in the thick of raising little ones. Some are guiding teenagers. Some are praying for adult children who are finding their way. Some are grieving. Some are waiting. Some are spiritual mothers who have poured into the next generation with Christlike tenderness.

Wherever you find yourself today, we honor you.

There's a verse tucked into Proverbs that captures the heart of motherhood:

Strength and dignity. Not loud. Not flashy. Not perfect. Just steady. Faithful. Present.

Most of the work a mother does is unseen — the prayers whispered in the hallway, the meals prepared without applause, the emotional load carried quietly, the sacrifices made without announcement. Yet God sees every bit of it.

And He calls it holy.

Motherhood is discipleship in real time.

Lord, thank You for the gift of mothers — biological, adoptive, spiritual, and all who nurture with Your love. Strengthen them today. Refresh their spirits. Remind them that their work matters deeply to You. Surround those who are hurting with Your comfort. Let every woman feel seen, valued, and loved. In Jesus' name, Amen.
