What We Believe
The Gifts of the Holy Spirit
At Trinity Christian Church, we believe that the Holy Spirit is active, present, and working in the lives of believers today — just as He was in the early church.
"Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit… But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal."
1 Corinthians 12:4, 7 (KJV)
The Gifts We Affirm
We affirm that these gifts are biblical, available, and given for the building up of the body of Christ.

"Let all things be done unto edifying."1 Corinthians 14:26 (KJV)
How We Approach the Gifts
Our posture toward the gifts of the Spirit is shaped by Scripture, love, and a desire to glorify Christ.
The Spirit Is Active Today
The same Spirit who empowered the early church in the book of Acts continues to empower the church in our generation. The gifts were never meant to fade away — they were meant to strengthen, encourage, and equip the church until Christ returns.
We Seek the Giver, Not the Gifts
The gifts are not spiritual trophies, personal badges, or tools for self-promotion. They are expressions of God's grace, given by the Spirit, for the purpose of serving others. We desire the gifts — but we pursue love first. We welcome the Spirit — but we worship Christ above all.
Edification, Not Entertainment
The gifts are meant to edify, encourage, and strengthen the church. We use the gifts with humility, practice them with order and clarity, submit them to Scripture, and test all things. We reject emotional manipulation and spiritual showmanship. We embrace the Spirit's work when it aligns with the Word and produces the fruit of Christlike character.
Power and Maturity Together
A healthy church doesn't choose between the gifts of the Spirit and the fruit of the Spirit — it embraces both. Power without character becomes dangerous. Character without power becomes dry. But power and character together reflect the heart of Jesus.
For the Whole Body
The gifts are given for the building up of the entire body of Christ — not the spotlighting of individuals. We aim for a church where the Spirit moves freely, the Word remains central, love governs everything, and Christ is glorified.
"Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts…"
1 Corinthians 14:1 (KJV)We desire the gifts — but we pursue love first.
We welcome the Spirit — but we worship Christ above all.
In Summary
We are a church that believes and practices the following.
